Georgia-Pacific is seeking qualified professionals to consider for a Project Engineer , focused on electrical and process control, to join our team in Toledo, Oregon
The Project Engineer will be involved with both leading and supporting project teams in the development and implementation of projects using Georgia-Pacific capital project work processes. The position will be involved for the complete life cycle of capital and major maintenance projects including definition, detailed design, construction, start-up and close out.
The Project Engineer will also provide troubleshooting support to minimize downtime and maximize process efficiencies, as well as execute projects for asset and process improvements. This position will also support the knowledge and skill development for technical team members.
Toledo, situated on a bend of the Yaquina River and surrounded by wooded hills, is just seven miles inland from the Central Oregon Coast, the only inland coastal community with a deep-water channel. The historic town cascades over the hillsides to the river. Once a bustling lumber mill town, Toledo's industries today include lively boat repair businesses and Port of Toledo facilities; which support the fishing industry; a vibrant arts community, and a modern paper products mill. A Day In The Life Typically Includes:
Designing projects through development of scopes and estimates, reviewing proposals and recommending equipment, materials, services, and facilitating design reviews with project teams, including operations and maintenance personnel
Coordinating activities to economically deliver projects as defined in the scope of work and Decision Making Framework , including design, construction/installation, commissioning, startup, and documentation activities
Ensuring completed projects meet Georgia-Pacific requirements and applicable codes
Managing contractor work effort to support projects
Utilizing economic thinking when evaluating alternatives, equipment, vendors, and contractors
Optimize machine and process performance for unit operations of a paper production facility.
Provide technical expertise and transfer knowledge to other members of the team.
What You Will Need:
Basic
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, related discipline or other engineering discipline with experience relevant to electrical and process control project management.
One (1) or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment

Demonstrated team leadership
Project engineering experience
Experience working in a pulp and paper mill
