The Senior Buyer, a member of the Procurement group, is responsible for purchasing, negotiating and contracting equipment, materials and supplies from external vendors. The Sr. Buyer works with requestors to understand requirements including specifications, services, performance and timing. The individual is knowledgeable about national, regional and local contract agreements and assures compliance within their commodities.

Responsibilities:
o Analyzes vendor bid packages to ensure compliance to requirements and partners with requestor in determining total cost of ownership.
o Ensures compliance to all safety, purchasing, stores, and environmental policies and procedures.
o Responsible for annual spend between 20MM to $50MM.
o Individual works to build a strong partnership within their operating areas or commodity group to help drive process improvements and presents innovative solutions to recurring issues.
o Actively represents procurement and the facility operations on regional and national sourcing initiatives. Individual leads project teams across disciplines.
Required
Qualifications:
o Bachelor's degree
o At least 3 years of experience in operations, manufacturing, procurement, logistics or management
o Proficient skills utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Preferred
Qualifications:
o Negotiations experience
o Pulp & Paper Industry experience
o Capital Buying experience
o CPM or CPSM certification
Knowledge & Skills:
o Effective written and verbal communication, planning and organization skills
o Passport or SAP system knowledge preferred
o Experience utilizing a MRP or ERP system
o Knowledge of purchasing and sourcing processes & procedures
